Ein Katalog, ein Klassiker!
Back in 2015, the MAK in Vienna hosted a major exhibition on Josef Frank (1885–1967). In addition to his pioneering architectural work, the focus was on a designer who continues to influence international design to this day. Josef Frank was an architect and designer who stood for a pragmatic approach to design, focusing less on formal qualities and more on those of social experience. Today, Frank's ideas of unpretentious and unaffected functionality, which aimed at an independent, free, enlightened bourgeois culture of living and lifestyle beyond stylistic dogmas and fashionable conventions, seem more relevant than ever. The catalogue is a must-have for Viennese design enthusiasts and showcases his comprehensive work, which set new standards.
