The new home for all BIGsters in Denmark is in the North Harbour of Copenhagen – surrounded by water. The concrete-heardquarter is one of the projects that were added to the second extended edition of the BIG monograph published by Edition Detail.

Second round: The expanded edition of the BIG monograph by Edition Detail has been supplemented with two current projects – one of which is the new headquarters of the international architecture firm in Copenhagen.

The monograph documents a total of 22 international projects by the Bjarke Ingels Group with photos, overview plans and construction details. The group's new office building in Copenhagen is included in the second edition as a current example. In an interview with Barbara Zettel, Bjarke Ingels discusses his experience of being his own client.
"As architects, the best we can achieve is to meet the client’s demands in the best possible way. It was different in this case. We couldn’t direct blame to the client if something didn’t turn out the way we had intended it, simply because we happened to be the client. In the beginning, we designed at cross purposes a lot. It quickly became clear that the partners had to form two different camps: A group of clients and a smaller group of planners. The task of the planners was to solve the strict programmatic, functional, practical and sustainability-related requirements of the “client” in the best possible way."
